He was going to sell me an Athlon 64 setup, that is a 2800+ CPU, 754, on a Abit KV-80 motherboard with a gig of PC2700 DDR. 450w PSU. No video card. CD-RW drive. A 40gb hard drive was originally included, but he sold it while we were figuring out a place to meet. No price change. No case. I was also going to buy a gamecube from him with 10 games and accessories.

This was a good deal to start off with, if he had actually gone through with the deal, good and cheap. I told him that I was interested and we were negotiating and trying to find a good place to meet to do the trade. My roommate and I happened to be planning an unrelated trip that would pass very near his house that weekend, so I suggested that we just meet either at his house or nearby. A hurricane blew through on the weekend we were going to do this, so we were not able to travel at all. He then suggested paypal, but still planning to meet. After the hurricane, I PMed him to try and agree with him on a time and place to meet. He then told me that he had no gas and therefore couldn't drive. I told him that the idea of actually coming to his house was only possible on that particular weekend because of the unrelated trip. He reminded me that he didn't have and gay and told me he'd 'see what he could do'. I told him to buy some gas, and he said 'if i get payed in the next few days ill see what i can do'. I then sent a $50 deposit via paypal as we had previously discussed and agreed upon. The next message after I sent my deposit was him telling me that he was dirt broke but he wasn't going to sell it, but said he would let me know if he changed his mind. He told me he would refund my $50, but didn't.
I didn't understand why he would change his mind suddenly like this, especially offering the excuse that he's dirt broke when he's A: in the middle of a agreement to sell something B: I just gave him a down payment for $50. I told him as such. My roommate and I were going on another unrelated trip that weekend, so I told him that we could meet him in Waco. He responded "i really dont want to sell it unless i have to thats why it was up for sale" and asked me to wait a week so he could be sure if he was going to sell it. He again told me he would refund my paypal monies, but did not. I politely asked him to take into consideration that I really needed the desktop for college. He replied a few days later asking if I could pay $300 for it instead of $250. Keep in mind that the original price was OBO. Normally I wouldn't, but I was (and am) in terrible need of a decent computer so I went along with it. After a few days and another PM from me, he told me that he didn't want to sell the machine, but told me about another machine he had for sale. I was fairly angry at this point because he had been playing me along for more than 2 weeks with this deal, and now decided not to sell it. I replied: " WTF, you've had me going on this for two weeks, I even send a down payment, and now you just change your mind? You can't do this kind of crap." He did not respond of refund my $50. At this point, I made a thread describing the situation in FS/T, but did not mention his name. The general opinion of the members there was that he was in the wrong. I PMed him a link to the thread and told him that I would leave negative heatware if he did not sell. You can read that thread here:

And a complete copy of our PMs here: http://teamcombustion.com/iamsomeguy.txt
I have not heard back from him, although I did get my $50 back once he saw the thread and freaked out. It's rather ironic, he was angry at me for making him look like a 'twit' by making the thread, but nobody knew it was him until he posted in the thread.
So a final warning: DO NOT TRADE WITH HIM. He does not understand the basics of trading and has no consideration for those that he does business with. Avoid.October 7, 2005
